Q: How do I join Every Hero Needs a Name?
A: If you would like to name a puppy you may register online or mail a completed registration form to P.O. Box 1692, Palm Springs, CA 92263. Click here to register online.
Q: Who can join Every Hero Needs a Name?
A: Everyone! Make an individual contribution or fund raise from your family, friends, colleagues or classmates. Every Hero Needs a Name is open to anyone who wants to name one of our future heroes.
Q: What do I get if I create a team?
A: As a team captain, you will get quarterly updates on your puppy's progress to share with your team. Four members of your team will be able to attend a private luncheon prior to the graduation, and your entire team is invited to the graduation ceremony.
Q: How do I come up with a name for our puppy?
A: Use your imagination, honor someone you love or hold a puppy naming contest! Remember to think of both male and female names – or names that work for both!
Q: How can I raise money?
A: Send letters to your friends, have a bake sale, ask for donations in lieu of gifts, start a can drive or sell raffle tickets to choose the puppy's name. Remember every penny counts so have fun!

Q: Will I be notified when I (Sponsor/Team) has reached its puppy naming goal?
A: Captains will be notified when their teams have reached their goal amount it will also be updated on the website.

Q: What if I want to send my money in by mail?
A: While we do accept cash donations, checks and money orders are preferred to ensure we receive your contribution.
Q: What if I have collected multiple donations on my own?
A: Should you send donations from multiple individuals, please be sure to include each person's contact information and the amount of the donation so we can acknowledge their contribution. Please note if sending a personal check Guide Dogs of the Desert can only acknowledge the person who wrote the check so money orders are preferred.
Q: Why do I have to reserve my puppy now instead of waiting until I have raised enough funds?
A: Puppy births are limited. It may take a few months before your puppy is born so it's best to hold your spot now.
